Register Setting

The Register setting on a Rule Node plays an important part of your Pathway. It is usually one of the first Rule Nodes you build. It can however be built anywhere in a Pathway. Its primary function is to create a cohort of patients based on the rule lines in the Rule. .Node.

Extract nodes are recommended to be the Children of a Register Node.

A Register Node cannot be an extract node.

Example

A rule Node is marked as the Register at the base of the Pathway Developer screen.

The Register function is required for the following:

1. • Mandatory to provide a cohort of patients for Data extracts (local or Central Reporting).
   • Mandatory to provide a register of patients for Mail Merge fields for a patient letter \ Recall letters.
   • Optional to display in the Indicator window that the patient is on the defined register and has no outstanding indicators for the pathway.
   • Optional to be made visible as a Practice list report to show the Register.   

1. • The pathway Register will appear in an indicator window if all indicators have been met for that pathway.

The Register can be hidden from the Practice Lists screen when reports have run and from the Indicator window if there are no outstanding indicators.

• Right mouse click on the Rule Node you have defined as a Register
• Select  More - and then tick \ untick the Hide Register option
